Notes: John Bradshaw/Thomas Bradshaw

In 1659 Census of Fermanagh, Thomas Bradshaw, Gent was living in Drumcrue townland, parish of Clownish (Clones), which is adjacent to Killeevan parish, where John lived.  In the 17th & 18th centuries it was customary to name the first son after his paternal grandfather.  John's first son was called Thomas, therefore it is possible that there is a family connection.

Drumswords graves;

Ms Ann Bradshaw (c. 1747-52) is probably a granddaughter of Valentine Bradshaw

James Bradshaw (c. 1730-78) could also be a grandson and John Bradshaw (1750-1831) a great-grandson

1782 Will - Bradshaw James, Corcanally (Corconnolly), Co. Monaghan, Certificate

The Crest of the Coat of Arms shows a Stag Trippant under an Oak Tree standing on a wreath on a Knight's helmet is the same crest as William Bradshaw of Derbyshire

There is a old graveyard along the road from Killeevan Parish Church where many of the gravestones have Coats of Arms.  This graveyard, which is very overgrown, looks much older than Drumswords.  Cavan and Monaghan were the first two counties of Ulster to be "planted" with English settlers.

"Oct 2 in the 80 year of her age, the wife of William Fleming, Esq., Bundoran, and daughter of Daniel Bradshaw, Esq., of Florencecourt, at whose house the founder of Methodism, Rev. J. Wesley stopped when he came to that part of the country, and of who she retained a perfect recollection."

Archibald Hartson  may have had a son called Hall.

"I am researching the provenance of a copy of an 18th century play called, The Countess of Salisbury, which was written by the Irishwriter Hall Hartson (d.1773). It is a presentation copy ("a gift from her affectionate brother") to his sister, Frances Ann Bradshaw, whose name is in the book . There is an anonymous note in the back of the book written by one of Daniel Bradshaw's great great grandsons or granddaughters connecting the book to the Daniel Bradshaw and Frances Ann Harston of Violet Hill."
